Hey

I was wondering how you enable VLC to use similar shortcuts as Mplayer (e.g. right arrow skips forward, up arrow goes very far forward).

For Mplayer, whenever i open a movie with earphones plugged in, the volume goes to the max which is a big nuisance. Any way to change this?

Thanks

(i have mac os x 10.4)

You can change the keyboard shortcuts in VLC to whatever you want by visiting the 'preferences' > 'interface' > 'hotkey settings' menu. The default ones are wacky - how are you supposed to remember which three keys to hold down while you press another random button to preform some mundane task? Many times it's quicker to use the mouse, which defeats the purpose.

What I'd like to know is why the Mplayer devs go to such lengths to hide the document which details all the shortcuts in their app. I had to find them on another site and the info there was three years old so a lot of it may be redundant.

Between them VLC and Mplayer drive me nuts. They're full of bugs which no-one seems to have solutions for.

Edit: I managed to locate the keyboard shortcuts, but in my defense nowhere do they refer to them as something easily identifiable that would show up in a search engine like 'hotkeys' or 'keyboard shortcuts' so I'm still right, and I'm not apologising so there *folds arms*. :D

What I'd like to know now is how to hide the top toolbar in full screen mode.
