Hi there,

I have been experiencing this problem for quite some time and I'm tired of switching to Win to watch a VCD.

VLC opens up the file no problem, the problem is with the playback, the sound and the video is jerky. I can't fid a solution to this. If you have encountered and solved the problem please help. I'd like to get other media player applications recommendations as well.

Thanks in advance

I've had VCD issues with VLC as well. VLC is very particular about how VCD is supposed to be setup, otherwise it crashes with an ear-splitting noise.

In the end, balamw is right. Using Finder, go into your VCD, in one of your folders there will be a file that has the extension .DAT. If you copy that file onto your Desktop and change its extension to .mpg, QuickTime or VLC should play it fine.
