Anybody know of a guide to setup accessing content on your computer on Apple TV4 VLC player?

I want to play a few .iso DVD backups.

I can find the local network on VLC on my imac and on the Apple TV4 app, but I can't see how to set them up.

I haven't tried the app yet but my understanding is, as of right now anyway, it's not possible to do that.

It's not possible to do much of anything with the app in its current state.
To call it a beta is pushing it.

Check the Apple TV Apps forum for more information.

I tried Plex. I have always used iTunes and homesharing for the Apple TV but I have four DVDs from the same series that no matter how I encode them come out juddery. I had a thread on here, but I can't figure out the reason.

So I tried Plex, but it doesn't play .iso. I did want it to "just work". Thats what I kept hearing. But there are probably good reasons why.

So I tried VLC - no luck.

So I will probably try to make MKV's from my .iso's and try Plex again. Seems the same amount of work as iTunes. For all the ease of use I hear about Plex it seems like it requires a lot of configuring and setting up.
[doublepost=1455055219][/doublepost]Which is the correct Plex app to use on my computer so I can access mkv's on the apple TV?

The media server app or the Home Theatre app?

If you're going the MKV route you should take a look at standalone ATV4 apps like MrMC or InFuse....they play MKVs just fine and you don't need to have a Plex server running anywhere.
