I have been using VLC fo ra very long time and it never failed. It failed me now! I downloaded a video from Wistia services as mp4. I saw something I never saw before. With the trackpad I can zoom in and out of the video (scrolling up and down), the video starts zoom in, and if you zoom out the video turns circular! See images.

I thought the video is flawed somehow, but I played it in MPV and Quicktime and it worked as expected. Any one knows the reason?

Is this a 360° spherical video where you can change the angle to any direction?

In YouTube, press Command-? to get a list of keyboard short cuts. It says you can press + and - on the keypad (or [ and ]) to zoom in and out of spherical videos but it won't let you zoom out too far.

at first I thought so, but the video itself is not 360 I believe. You can check it out here at the bottom of this page.
