So I just updated to the iOS 16.5 DP RC.

Having a couple issues. I use VLC to store movies on my iPad, and I've always used my iPad to either plug in using the Apple Lightning to HDMI cable, and it's always worked fine, and sometimes I've used the wireless screen mirroring to my Apple TV.

After updating, when I plug in the HDMI cable, it mirrors, and on the TV it just says "the video is playing to the TV" and I can hear the audio coming through to the TV, but the video just says playing to TV.

I tried bumping over to the wireless and just doing screen mirroring, but it's doing EXACTLY the same thing.

Am I safe to assume the VLC app is going to need to be updated by the developer, or did I just have a huge mind fart and forgot about a setting somewhere that may have gotten triggered? It's driving me insane to the point where I even bought a little media player to just plug into the TV, but the whole file format issues on those cheap little players drives me insane, so that's not an option.

If anyone is experiencing this or has a work around let me know. I'm guessing there are other apps that'll do the same as vlc, but would rather wait if it'll be a few days to get a VLC update, tho they haven't updated their app in weeks (DP4 didn't work either).

Thanks as always!

VLC released an app update „fixing air play issues“. Must have been a bug on their end
