i have a question about playing .avi files

i have some videos on my computer .avi files and i use VLC player to open the files...now everytime i have to go trough the same procedure...ctrl-open with- VLC player. i also choose "always open with" so one would think that from now on every avi file is going to open in VLC player soon as you click it...nope it only opens the file where i chose the "always open with vlc player" for the other avi files i manualy need to repeat this everytime i try to open an avi file that has never been opened on my mac before...

isn't there a way so all avi files just simply open in vlc player without me manualy having to go trough the "open with.." function.

Here's what you'll want to do. Select an AVI file and type command + I, you'll see a new window open. In that window you should see "open with", select VLC and then below that click on "change all..." 🙂
