Is there anyway to set up presets for VLC OSX?
I would like my video to be on start up: cropped 16:10, subtitles to be turned off (if any present) and language to be set to the first selectable language on the list by default just by opening the video.
At the moment I'm doing all this manually by my self but is there any way to make VLC automatically do this on startup? Or is there anywhere I can save these settings in a menu somewhere so i can enable it with a single click?

You can cycle through subtitles via "S" and can also disable them that way.
You can change the crop via "C" and the aspect ratio via "A".
"B" changes the audio track.
As I am used to these keys, I am quick enough to not let it bother me with a preset, if there is one.
Maybe this can help: http://wiki.videolan.org/Hotkeys_table
