VLC stop auto aspect

Thanks for the reply, I guess I should have been more clear. I know how to get it off of locked aspect ratio what I want is for it to default to unlocked aspect ratio, so that EVERY time I go to start a file I don't have to go up there and uncheck it.

Hi I have a somewhat similar problem which i cant find the solution to anywhere (for the version im using at least 1.1.12).
Im looking for a way to set the default aspect ratio in VLC to 16:9 so I don't have to change it every time I play a video file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
