Hello,
I'm new here and in mac os world:cool:

I've bought mac mini and now I cannot use UDP stream (VLC) and internet at same time.
I didn't found any solution on internet, only threads like this.

let me explain:
I have internet and IP TV over VDSL. I can use Set Top Box from ISP to watch TV or I watch it in VLC.
On Windows 7 laptop I have cabel from xDSL modem to laptop. Port on modem is set to "video". I set static IP adress to LAN card type 10.x.x.x (similar to STB IP) and subnetmask to 255.255.0.0 - it isn't same for internet. Gateway and DNS are empty.
In VLC I set same 10.x.x.x IP to preferences, Access output. In VLC I have playlist with all TV channels and it's IPs.
Stream is working always without problems - if I have internet connected over wireless card or not. I can surf and watch TV same time.

But same settings doesn't work on mac. I gave same cable from modem to mac. I set same IP, same network mask - I tried with different too.
Stream isn't working if wireless is on - it is "loading" but no picture or sound.
If I turn off wifi stream is working, but not OK. Example - I watch old movie which is in 4:3 format and when are commerials on TV which are in 16:9 picture in VLC freeze - it doesn't change format. If I go on playlist and click same channel again it is working back - if I have wifi off.
I can turn off wifi, open UDP stream and watch channel and turn on wifi. Then I have both at the same time - until commercials or changing channel.

I tried to turn off mac os firewall - no diference.
I set ipv6 to local link only, like someone in other thread said - no difference.
I tried VLC nightly, but it is the same.

I have mac os mountain lion, newest VLC.

Is it possible to solve this issue?

Thanks for any help

OK, problem is solved.

I need oldest version of VLC player - 1.1.12. In this version are settings little difference - I set:
-Multicast output interface: en0
-IP 4 multicast output: 10.x.x.x IP

VLC 2.x doesn't have "IPv4 multicast output" setting, just "multicast output interface" where I entered IP adress but it isn't OK.
