VLC - Video Stretch

Since the last update i cannot stretch a video vertically or horizontally?

Only stretching a video by hitting the corners...

Do you mean changing the aspect ratio via hitting the A key? In VLC 2.0 you have to go to the Menu Bar > Video > Aspect Ratio or maybe assign a keyboard shortcut via its preferences.
