    Hello,

My understanding was that VLC could play Blu-Ray disc with the help of a few extra files.

I followed the instructions here: http://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name

I then put a blu-ray movie into my brand new portable blu-ray drive and loaded it in VLC... However I got the following error message.

"Blu-Ray error: This Blu-Ray disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it."

Please understand I have create the folders and downloaded the files and quadruple checked everything - but still can't get passed this error message. VLC is also up to date.

I am eager to get it working and watch my blu-ray movies on the new drive!

    Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into this about a year ago. This instructions are for unencrypted Blu-Rays!

What I ended up doing is buying the shareware Blu-Ray Player, along with the betas (I re-download the beta every thirty days) of MakeMKV and in turn use HandBrake.
