Hi all!

I installed Windows 8 on VMWare a few days ago, and noticed that the scrolling isn't very smooth. Any help?

I changed to settings to 4gigs of RAM, and one core. Seems better, but still not fluid like OSX...

Seems like a good idea. Of course, guest OSes will never perform great unless there is great support hardware.

In the case of the MBA, I'm sure the hardware is capable, but the thermal limitations of the machine mean there is throttling and hence a performance hit.

It never will be, it's a virtualized OS.

FWIW I have a tendency of running 3 to 4 Windows XP (2 or 3 Win7x64) machines at that same time. But I have a top of the line MBP i7 w/16GB of RAM. Until I get the fourth one up and running they are quite snappy.

I also need to ask, what are you using it for. I use mine almost exclusively for business applications, but many are quite compute intensive. I don't really have any problems with scrolling . . . and by that you mean like on a website or something?

For example, I'll be on Chrome scrolling through MacRumors, and instead of the fluidness on OSX, I get choppy scrolling.

Have you installed vmware tools on the guest OS? That significantly improves scrolling performance.
