VmWARE and VPN

When using a VM and VPN on my Mac there is no connection on the VM but it works on the VM but not on the Mac?
Why doesn,t it work on the VM when it is connected on the Mac?.
Surely it is working from the same network?
Is there any way to make it work with the Mac and VM?
I hope someone can explain it to me ,heres hoping thanks.I musi say i am using it on a external drive.

Not only that but there is distortion in the sound ,plus it does not seem very fast considering iy is a SSD drive really diss apointed with it. Why should there be distortion in the VM when it uses the sound from the Mac?

Because you didn’t send all bandwidth through the VPN by to he king to box in Advanced button (as well in other VPN clients) to send all data through the VPN connection! Did you do this step?
