10 works fine with APFS. Does your computer meet the system requirements? What model is it?

Model is MBP5,3 (15" mid 2009) with 8 GB ram. It is an HS unsupported machine, but I was able to patch it successfully (see posts on Unsupported Macs). It's the only app I have issues with. By the way, do you have trim enabled on your APFS formatted drive? Mahalo for the response.

You need a 2011 or newer computer to run Fusion 10. The CPU in yours doesn't have the necessary virtualization support.

Hello
Anyone running VMWare Fusion on Hight Sierra ?
Any issues ?
Hi! I am running VM Fusion on imac High Sierra and sudenly my Windows 10 VM changed my screen from colour to black & white. Is this a bug with VMware or with Windows 10?
Anyone know how to fixit please?

I updated to macOS High Sierra and Apple File System. VMware Fusion runs, and most VMs work....

BUT Bootcamp (Windows 10 Pro) would not load: Operation not Permitted, cannot open the disk//Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/Boot Camp.

So I deleted it, and recreated with Fusion and I have a new error: VMware Fusion could not find any Boot Camp volumes on this Mac.

I think it breaks Bootcamp. I tried adding boot.ini file in native Windows 10 - still no joy.

I found a solution on frankl.in and it fixed that problem for me:

The fix (or bandage)
Either don’t enable APFS during the macOS High Sierra upgrade or bypass the protection of the filesystem by following these steps:

  • Reboot into Recovery-mode, holding CMD+R until the Apple logo appears.
  • Go to Utilities menu > Terminal
  • Enter csrutil enable --without fs && reboot
The mac reboots. When it is done create the Boot Camp VM.

My system:
MacBook Pro 2012
16 GB RAM
Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSD (trim enabled) APFS macOS Volume
macOS 10.13.4
Windows 10 Education on Bootcamp
VMware Fusion 10.1.1

Thanks a million Joe. I went a step further and ran "csrutil disable" instead. You just saved me hours of frustration trying to re-import my VM.
