VMware Fusion Question

hey, im trying to get the vmware fusion beta to run my bootcamp partition, but it keeps giving me the error message that the selected file isn't a virtual disk. I've done it in the past, (it was with vista on the bootcamp, which ive replaced with xp) and it worked fine then. Any ideas on what i need to do to fix this?
