Broadcom has released VMware Fusion Professional 25H2u1, free to all, which restores the ability to check for updates within the app. Their website is fussy. It says to click on Terms and Conditions, then a checkbox to agree. I tried several browsers in which the checkbox stayed blocked, possibly because of installed extensions. The website behaves as expected with the unadorned DuckDuckGo browser.

Thanks for the DDG tip.

Yeah…you have to click the Terms link, the page opens, close the page, and then continue. I entered my bogus info and got through to the download.

I'm surprised they didn't require access to my webcam so that they could watch my eyes to make sure I read the terms.

I'm sure the update check will just take you to a page where you have to do all the agreeing and signing in to even be able to download it, too, when there's actually a new update again.
