Hello, I need some help; I'm brand new to linux and I'm running Ubuntu 8.04.2 on VMware Fusion 2.0.4 on a MAc that's running Leopard.

I need to install VMware Tools to Ubuntu because I want to be abel to enable Visual Effects, I looked all over the place for tutorials and there all out-dated because the VMware Tools are different.

So please help me out, What's the easiest way to enable Visual Effects in Ubuntu 8.04.2? Also an easy way to install VMware Tools to Ubuntu.

Thanks in advance!

To install VMWare Tools, just choose to install it using the option in the menu bar, and follow the instructions in the image that mounts.

But, I don't think that Visual Effects can be enabled in a virtual machine.

VMWare Fusion and Parallels do not support OpenGL acceleration inside the VM at the moment so you will not be able to enable the Visual Effects.
