VMware with Windows 7, setting up a printer?

    How do I setup a printer within vmware running windows 7?

    I've tried downloading and installing the HP drivers/software for the printer without any luck.

    Ideas?

    IT just shares it from your mac.

    Setup the printer on your mac - then go into the VM Settings and slide the button over that says share printer.

    How is it connected, is it via USB? If so, make sure that it is connected to your windows session and not to your mac OS. Lower right corner, there is a USB symbol, make sure it is BLACK (connected to Windows) and not Gray (connected to Mac OS)

    Make sure you have the VMware tools installed as well.

    This was the problem...install the VMware tools and everything works!
