VNC/ Remote control question

I use a powerbook runnning panther and have a windows 2000 box also on the same network, is it possible to control it via remote and well take control totally including seeing the screen if possible. And if yes how

OS X -> Win2k, use RDC from Microsoft.

Or install a VNC server on the PC and use a VNC client on the Mac.

you need windows 2000 server to use RDC

I was looking for a free option and possibly a basic idea what I have to do

can any 2 vnc things work together or do they have to be from the same developer?

My parents' XP system has WinVNC. I use Chicken of the VNC with it, no problem.

VNC is Open Source, so any two will do just fine (or should).
