Considering Vodafone is the 3rd bigger network worldwide I wouldn't be surprised if they know all the details about the iPhone 5.

Any opinions on what the article said about the iphone 5's features?

"Four years later, Apple is set to introduce the iPhone 5, which will include features that will bring the device’s hardware up to par with other Android smartphones. Some of these features include a slightly larger screen, a thinner form factor, a dual core-A5 processor similar to the one found on the iPad 2, a higher-resolution 8-megapixel rear-facing camera as opposed to the 5-megapixel one found on the iPhone 4 and iOS 5, the upcoming version of Apple’s mobile operating system, embedded right in."

slightly larger screen? So it's going to be 3.7 most likely and not a 4 inch? slightly thinner, so there will be a design change then? All the other stuff is expected with a5, 8 mp camera, and ios 5.

I've a friend who works as management in Vodafone, and he was sayin they do infact have some information on the phone, but nothing like pics, just a few specs and stuff!

I live in Newbury, where Vodafone HQ is, i know quite a lot of people that work there, majority of staff are basically going off rumours and educated guesses. they have no concrete knowledge. only a few key people know anything, but even then its vague stuff, no dates, no other specifics, just a general release period of early october.

I'm a girl, and i don't find that offensive *shrugs*. i love pinks and pastels and oranges, most girls i know do, although thees always exceptions. I'm sure theres an evolutionary reason for it, same reason guys gravitate away from those colors.

A stock baby pink iphone 5... That'd be hella cute :D.

We can't even be sure that my red isn't what blue looks like to you.

I think that our color preferences are just societal conditioning.

Absolutely they are. There is a wealth of research supporting this. From infancy boys are surrounded by blue and girls surrounded by pink. Also, it isn't that young girls choose to play with Barbies or that boys choose to play "fort"- these are behaviors that parents strongly suggest, if not force, their children to engage in.

And we are officially very off topic- back to the Vodafone discussion :D.

I'm not as sure as you are about this part. Girls play with dolls because they evolved to rear children. Boys play fort because it can help them gain status(like in hunter gatherer times), and thus a better mate.

I'm not sure I can agree that this is the reason children have these gender-specific behaviors. I doubt that these evolutionary based behaviors (eg. rearing children) are prominent enough in young children to influence the type of play they engage in. The type of gender-specific play is for the most part encouraged or facilitated by cultural norms and most importantly by what parents allow. A young boy who shows interest in female-type play such as playing with dolls will most often be strongly discouraged or even punished by his parents. There are several "theories" for homosexuality that claim that abnormal gender-specific play in children (boys playing with dolls) predicts identification as a homosexual later in life.

Sorry that screenshot means absolutely nothing. Anyone who thinks otherwise knows nothing about Apples security.

The carriers know some very limited info at this point. But there is no reason for Apple to have told them the capacities yet as that has nothing to do with making sure the phone works properly on the network. The carriers more then likely will find that info out when we do. A week between the announcement and pre sales gives them plenty of time to get everything ready.
