Just out of curiosity, can any hard liquor (tequila, rum, vodka, gin, etc) be stored in a freezer without it freezing? The engineer in me thinks the answer is probably yes, but I was just curious. :)

Once you get down to like 25% ABV it separates out. Your standard 80 proof stuff will just be a little more viscous.

It looks like the bottom gets filled ... is there anyway to avoid this?
On those it looks like it does. My set were given to me by a liquor rep. (i worked in a huge beer/wine/liquor store for 2 years) and the bottoms in them were not that "thick" with ice. I am sure there are other brands out there that have more of a shallow bottom, i just added that link for a quick pic for those curious. You do want some bottom to the shot glass, otherwise it will melt on ya!

btw, they are über-fun in the summertime.:)

Maybe I'll try freezing my amaretto when I get home...56 proof, so it's on the weak end of the spectrum.

Or you could just buy yourself a nice bottle of whiskey ...

God. Seriously.

A friend of mine has started a "whiskey tasting club" -- Friday nights they sample whiskeys, slowly working their way through some liquor store in Binghamton NY.

I live 500 miles away, so I don't sample much beyond Jameson's and Knob Creek. :p

mmm frozen vodka
right now my favorite is Cold River

Similar to Grey Goose/Stoly, not as biting as Ketel or Absolut

And it lives in my freezer to go into a glass with a twist to sip on.
