Voice Control just as bad as any voice control.

WOW just got the new 3GS and tried out the voice control.

I didn't think it would WORK right but I wanted to try it out anyway.


Call Corey.... Calling Nicole lol.


Play Album Dark SIde of the moon.... calling mom.

LOL

Man I thought maybe apple would have got it a little better than this, it's just the same lame voice controls from other providers that are laughably bad and is just used for amusement. Only people I see using this are blind people and people who try to talk perfect to the computer.

oh yeah

Play Nirvana.... Playing DAFT PUNK... LAME.

Lol just asked it to play Weezer's Blue Album and it started calling a 800 number, it's a joke. Just a novelty not usable.

Television in the UK? This matters. It doesn't understand people with accents.

If you talk like someone from California, then you must be doing something wrong. Mumbling? Drunk slurring?

Really, it rarely misunderstands me.
 
well it works great if you have a robot voice like the lady in voice control she likes it when you talk like a robot

Actually, I talk to mine in a regular voice. As if I'm talking to a person. It understands me very well.

You don't have to talk like a robot.

Funny, I just said, play artist Nirvana and it said plying songs by Nirvana.

Mine works.
 
Mine works 95% of the time as well.

I dont talk like a robot to it, but you have to be clear. O and is it just me or is the ladies voice hot ;) lol
 
Well, duh if you expect it to sound and respond like Tony Stark's Jarvis (Paul Bettany who forgot he did the voice in one interview). It works for what it is supposed to do.

Adding notes to the contacts works well, I've found. "Call Mom" seems to go smoother than "Call Gloria".
 
works perfectly for me.

oh and i work in an office, because apparently your job dictates whether you have an accent or not.

See the thing is the OP said its "bad just like every other one..."


My past two phones have had great voice control. My Palm 755P I could dictate an email or SMS perfectly.


Perhaps it is indeed his voice that is causing an issue with all voice control applications he's used.

it can't be his voice, he works in television.

That is an odd answer. Anyone with only the most basic knowledge of languages would know that everyone has an accent. To clarify some of the answers being flung around here; the voice control works best with an American accent, which is also very strange.
 
Mine works fine most of the time. Maybe you're bad at talking. Good thing you don't work in radio!
