Hello I'm still fairly new the MR forums so go easy on me :D I have recently switched from Verizon to TMO and got a JB 2G iphone so I can enjoy Iphone bliss... However one thing is I have a motorcycle and love to ride. I had a bluetooth headset that I used while riding to make and answer calls ( i Know not brilliant but oh well). I know that the 2g iphone doesn't have voice command but my question is, is it coming in an update or is there any third party apps that will work and allow me to use my BT headset to control my iphone? Thanks for your replies!

it's not ever coming in an update, and I'm pretty sure theres no app that can do that. (although that could be wrong)

Well crap it seems though that this might be a safety issue seeing how the government and everyone are pushing hands free devices to keep people from running in to each other  . The Iphone is obviously capable of such a task, my freakin old razr had the voice command feature. I am suprised that the fcc or someone hasn't come down on apple on this issue. It is my understanding that apple has disabled allowing 3rd party apps to keep from allowing this feature as well

3.1 will allow you to enable voice command via bluetooth

I currently use the Jabra Noise assian and it works like a charm. No issues

It is my understanding that the voice command features of the 3GS are hardware-based and that previous versions simply do not have the necessary hardware. As for not allowing third-party apps, I do not think the reason for that has anything to do with preventing voice dialing; Apple has been very clear that they wish to maintain the stability of the iPhone by keeping control of what apps can be installed. On the other hand, since your phone is jailbroken, you certainly can install third-party apps, and I believe there are several which offer software-based voice dial.

The 1st Gen is also capable of MMS, but you wont ever see that from apple.
