Hi All, I'm looking for an app for my macbook pro that will allow me to dictate in gmail, word, etc. I've tried the macbook pro dictation but it doesn't work well. Recommendations? Thanks.

Sadly the native dictation utility doesnt work that well to start with. They do "learn" though over time.
The best software for this is Dragon Professional Individual. Sadly this is rather expensive https://shop.nuance.com/store/nuanc...4441&cjevent=e323bb01698011ea83e5004e0a1c0e0e
Originally Nuance had a product called Dragon Dictate Professional for Mac but it was discontinued in 2018. The PC version is still highly recommended but you would need to instal Parallels in order to run Windows on your Mac to use that.
Have you tried turning on Enhanced Dictation in System Preferences > Dictation and Speech?

Thanks for responding. I do have enhanced dictation on. And I don't want to do Parallels -- did that awhile ago for something else and found it to be a complete hassle. I really hope someone comes up with a good mac dictation solution, this is a huge gap.

I agree it would be very useful but if you read what the Dragon software can/does do you can understand why it's so expensive. I can't imagine a worthwhile similar app being much cheaper. For $300.00 It would need to be tax deductable for me.

My hangup with the current Dragon software I don't want to run parallels or be in a PC environment.
