Somehow this was flowing a little bit under the radar:

"Voice recognition coming to all countries where we sell Homepods later this year". Finally!

I just waited 2 years for this... most frustrating part of it: you get asked if you want to enable it, click yes and then it tells you: great, you just have to switch Siri's language to english...
