It seems OSX is not very good with respect to voice to text [to dictate into a word processor, such as Word. I had someone tell me the iPad has dictation capability. Is it the same software as OSX? Or is it better?

    With Dictation:
    Hi,

As you can see the dictation and Mac OS X actually works pretty well!

In what form is the text created, in a text file, or can it go into Word?

You activate it with a keyboard shortcut. As far as I'm aware, you can use it to type whenever you normally would with a keyboard.

No, macbook pro. Using my iPhone which works the same as ipad this happens:

    Hi

As you can see voice dictation on my phone *** works pretty well.

That was with the built in microphone which barely works anymore (I broke it) and I was talking fast like I always do, pretty impressive in my opinion :)
