Has anyone noticed that if a call is droped then the person on the other line is recorded into your voicemail until they realize you are not longer connnected and hangup.

I hope this make sense. It has happened to me many times.

Dropped call then new voicemail with recording of other person...very strange.

That is awesome. I have not noticed this, but that is a great idea. That way you dont miss anything.

But we are on the network with the fewest dropped calls.

Why would there be need for such a feature??

I don't think it was ever the truth. I believe, however, that it has something to do with the phone that you use. Before my iPhone I had a Motorola phone that would drop calls right and left. However on the iPhone I have not had one dropped call yet (touch wood).
