I have numerous messages in Console saying:
Sandbox: com.apple.WebKit.Networking(530) deny(1) mach-lookup com.apple.diagnosticd

Can anyone help explain this and how I can resolve it?

What makes you certain it needs to be resolved? Are experiencing any issues related to this message in the console? If not, wouldn’t worry about it.

I guess my first cause for concern was the word Vioatile. But I’m also experiencing a kernel task that is slowing the computer to a crawl.

which task slows down your Mac (model?)?

Otherwise: the logged notification tells you that an app (or your code, or a child process, etc.) is trying to do lookup a Mach service named com.apple.diagnosticd, probably at global scope, and you don't have an entitlement to do so, and therefore it's being denied.
