Volume auto lowering while in iMessage

hey all,

Whenever I go into iMessage in iOS 12 while listening to a song the volume automatically lowers. Anyway to turn this off? Can’t find anything in settings.
 
Is this a particular app?
I just tried it on an 8+ and IPP while listening to Google Play and did not experience your issue.
