To add them back, just hold your device near the Apple TV and it’ll give you a pop up. Had the same thing that not all devices were shown on mine but I paired it up and then restarted the phone that wasn’t listed and its working for now at least.

Thanks. I’ll try that.

Same problem as well. Volume was working today on the Apple TV remote and now it doesnt work, but still turned tv on/off. Also, it will not learn the remote for my LG OLED. Annoying!

EDIT: I unpaired my remote and when it re-paired it was working again. Held TV and volume down for about 5-10 seconds. Message popped up that remote was unpaired. Once it connected again volume was working!
Thanks - this worked for me. The apple remote refused to control my preamp after the ios 16 upgrade, even relearning the IR codes didn't work.

The “home theater controls” did nothing for me. What did work is this: on Apple TV, settings, remotes and devices, other devices, remote app and devices, select my iPhone, forget this device then re-pair it using the instructions on the screen.

This worked for me to restore volume control from my phone when controlling that ATV using Remote...but I can't control the Apple TV's volume when Airplaying music to it. The Airplay "sheet" shows a volume bar, just like other zones/airplay receivers that I'm playing to at the same time, but adjusting the volume there has no effect.

So when I Airplay music around the house, I can adjust the volume for all the zones from my phone...except for the one running through the ATV.

So frustrating. The entire 10+ years I've used AirPlay, it's consistently been a buggy adventure like this.
