I have a question about what levels to set the volume at with devices connected to the Apple TV. I often airplay things from my Mac to my Apple TV, and my TV has speakers connected to it. There are three devices with volume settings on them: Mac, TV, and speakers. How should I set the levels? Should the Mac and TV be at 100%, then adjust the speakers accordingly? What if I would like to have most control with my Mac? I'm looking for the settings with the best possible sound quality.

The best way would be to try different volume settings and see which work best for your configuration.

In audio the best practice is to never run volume on any device at full power! So if your Apple TV is connected to a receiver then volume should be set to 8 out off 10. Then if you louder music turn up the stereo instead. This way you will prevent future distortion.
