After updating to the second beta of OS X Yosemite, I noticed that when pressing the volume up or down on the keyboard, it no longer makes that "clicking" noise.

I tried it on my macbook and it was the same problem.

Does anyone else have that problem?

I hope Apple didn't purposely remove that sound because I find it very annoying to adjust my volume, and not know how high or low my volume is. :(

    ***NEVERMIND***
For some reason, I had to enable it in "Sounds" in system preferences.
I just ticked "Play feedback when volume is changed"
However, It sounds really different. Guess I'll have to get used to it.

I have the same issue, and I think Apple removed it.

Yeah, woah.. I just turned mine back on too.. the beta must of disabled it as default... and the new sound is really weird and boring.

The checkbox is now unchecked by default since DP5 (This means DP5, DP6 and PB2)

It can be found in System Preferences -> Sound -> Sound Effects -> Play feedback when volume is changed. (not a new thing, has been in Sound System Preferences for years)

Also, holding "shift" while adjusting the volume also causes the opposite behavior as this checkbox.

For example, if the checkbox is not ticked, holding shift will play the feedback sound for that volume notch adjustment.
If the checkbox is ticked, holding shift will adjust the volume without playing a sound.

He already said that and edited that in his OP.
