As of 15.1, the volume buttons on my Apple Remote or from within the Remote App (from Control Center) no longer work to change the volume for my Stereo Paired HomePods. I’m still able to adjust the volume for whatever’s playing on the ATV from the +/- buttons on the tops of the HomePods, though. Doesn’t matter what’s playing, Netflix or Movies or Amazon Prime Video..

The Apple TV’s settings still show the HomePods as being the system output. I’ve tried rebooting everything including unplugging the HomePods. I’m stumped.

I’ve filed FB9732024 if anyone else happens to have this issue and also files feedback. Thanks everybody

Now I’m finding when I select my own television speakers as the system Audio Output in the Apple TV settings, I’m able to adjust the volume for what’s playing on the Apple Remote.

When I switch the Audio Output back to the Stereo Paired HomePods, although it shows as being selected/changed, I’m still continuing to hear audio thru my television’s speakers and nothing thru the HomePods. And adjusting the volume on the Remote still adjusts the volume on the televisions speakers, not the HomePods.

I’m unable to even play music from my own iPhone to my HomePods now. And tapping on the top of the HomePods, Siri does say she’s trying to play me something I’d like, but then says they can’t connect to Apple Music.

This seems to all be resolved with today’s audioOS 15.1.1 update
