I've been reading the forums for about 6 months and consistently notice that some members are very helpful and knowledgeable. I decided to start a thread to acknowledge their contributions.

My vote goes to [in no particular order]:

* Mitthrawnuruodo & iMeowbot

I'll second Mitthrawnuruodo for sure. And he's always so not a smart-a** when dealing with the basics. Kind and helpful - got to be good.

I would also add Applespider and IJReilly for succinct, accurate and no-attitude input.

How about an alternate thread, maybe more fun, for the most patronising, unhelpful and generally angry MR member? Makes me wonder, sometimes, why they bother to post replies. :)

Another vote for Mitt, and I'd like to add one in for mad_jew. He's always around when someone needs him.

Even if he just tells you to move the .plist files to the desktop    :p :D

Ah! Maybe a quick search and a re-read of previous threads is what you're suggesting?

Oops.

*shuffles off very quietly away from this thread*

don't worry, those awards were only voted on by the elite demis, can always have another dick measuring contest out in the public forums.
how about a award for the worst forum member :D

Phew! Thanks. :) In which case, I also nominate jelloshotrule for suddenly making me feel better. :)

I don't really know anyone well enough to vote yet, but there are many very helpful people on this site. :)

A vote for CanadaRAM here.

mad jew would have gotten it, but his useful-to-spamming post ratio is on the low side. :p ;) :D

He'll freely admit that, too.

I have to thank M-theory, UKnjb and gauchogolfer, this was a nice, though unexpected, start to the weekend... :) I'm having very ambivalent feelings about this... delighted but slightly embarrassed at the same time... :) I'm really quite shy, you know...

Just trying to help wherever I can... or think I can, in most cases... :p

And remember: Keep repairing those permissions... :D

well, I guess I started it because I always see how helpful you are here on so many subjects.

In addition, there are so many jerks on MR who just make snide comments and contribute nothing...and to quote a previous post "why bother..."

I wanted to acknowledge it and show my appreciation...thanks.

So what's the criteria for being the most helpful/knowledgeable? Is it tech related stuff, more community related stuff, general advice...etc?

you're trying to figure out a way in which you can vote for me, aren't you? so sweet of you.
