Sometimes I want an explanation because things are too complicated. I can get multiple explanations from sources with different opinions. You can't honestly say, unless you're a lawyer, that you understand all the literature in the larger US laws being passed, nor does anyone have comprehensive knowledge of the Syria civil war.

That being said, I'd never pay for Vox. It's free now. They're not something sought-after like WSJ or Time. And generally, I don't pay for things that I used to have for free :D
I am an attorney, so....

And perhaps that is part of the problem. When I hear non-lawyers explaining legal issues I sort of roll my eyes---a lot of people get things wrong.

That makes sense. I can't stand some of the tech news I read, so I get to the bottom of things myself and sometimes find that they're wrong. MR is usually good, though. But, say the article isn't about something you specialize in.

Exactly. When sort of laypeople write stories about your industry, I bet there are times you just groan.

Same here!

Reading Vox=Staying Informed?? lol

They host some great podcasts with conservative writers and thinkers that are well worth anyone’s time, especially if you’re interested in contemporary politics. I try and read a little bit from a lot of different sources.
