Vpn app not connecting in Yosemite mac pls help

Hi I used this vpn service called strongvpn it's been working fine until a week ago

Now it doesn't connect at all. I had installed a few antivirus apps a few days ago thanks to some other issue. Now I've removed them.

Vpn works if I enter the vpn info in the network control panel and hit connect

Why is the strongvpn app not connecting? Kindly assist thx!

Here are some basic troubleshooting steps: (1) are you connecting through the same network? (2) are you connecting through the same interface? (ethernet, wifi, etc.) (3) are you connecting through the same router?

If the answer to all of those questions is yes, I'd look to to your network settings to see whether your VPN changed your configurations. You might need to clear your DNS cache. Anti-virus programs wouldn't affect your VPN connectivity. Also, are you running the built-in firewall? Little Snitch could certainly cause VPN configuration issues, but once it's uninstalled, it wouldn't affect connectivity.

You also might have to look at StrongVPN's settings. I'd make sure the port numbers were the same as before and would also look at the DNS settings.

I'm not entirely familiar with StrongVPN, but I'm pretty sure it's simply a VPN service with its own client. Maybe consider trying a different desktop client that uses the OpenVPN protocol (Viscosity, Tunnelblick, etc.)

Yeah thanks for the tips but still the vpn app doesn't wanna connect
