I have an issue with a mac trying to VPN into the office. Unfortunately, both the home and office IP range is on 192.168.1.x and neither can be changed.

On a PC, I can force the VPN connection to use the office DNS server of 192.168.1.250 but on the mac, it completely ignores me.

There seem to be several posts about this but no sure fire fix. Anybody aware of one please?

I am not trying to be evasive, but why can't the home range be changed? I ask because while it can be done (depending on the VPN too, IIRC) it will be WAY easier to just change your subnet on the home end, if possible.
