HotspotVPN vs PublicVPN vs Jiwire Spotlock vs WiTopia PersonalVPN?

I'll be traveling a lot for the next year. Anyone have a recommendation for a VPN service to make hotspot usage more secure?

    HotspotVPN
    $8.88 a month / $88.80 for 1 year

    PublicVPN
    $5.95 a month / $59.95 for 1 year

    Jiwire Spotlock
    $4.95 a month / $49.95 for 1 year

    Witopia PersonalVPN
    $39.95 per year

I currently use personalVPN and find it extremely slow. Problem is that I live on the Westcoast and their VPN servers are in DC. Download speeds don't exceed 300Kbps even though I have a 10Mb line.

I'm going to test HotSpotVPN to see if they're any better.

Thanks for posting, Maestrokev. I'm curious to hear if HotSpotVPN gives you better speeds...

HotSpotVPN is much faster, I get 1-3Mb speeds, slower than my line's potential but much better than WiTopia. HotSpotVPN has VPN servers in California and Illinois. WiTopia only has servers on eastcoast. Now I can watch videos on ABC/NBC etc.

More expensive but you get what you pay for. They both use TunnelBlick so installation is the same.

    I use Hotspot Shield

It's free and I learned about it in a security article in Macworld.
