    Hi all,

is VT-x virtualization technology enabled/working on Mac Pro with upgraded CPU?

Using the Mac Pro in sign all virtualization software I'm trying are not working and appear with a "prohibition" icon superimposed on they original icon (like for OS 9 apps on Intel-based Macs).

Did you enable it in the BIOS setup?

You can look up your CPU model number at http://ark.intel.com and see a list of its features - but at least VT-x has been standard on mainstream Intel processors since Core 2 Duo days....

What virtualization software with version? This sounds like a software problem, not a hardware one.

Yes it is on the last few recent models at least. You need to tell the hypervisor to pass this to the VM if the VM is attempting to use it.

I noticed it after updating from Mac OS X 10.7 to 10.9 (switching my boot drive from a 2006 Mac Pro to this one)... I think it's a software issue. As a matter of fact I've upgraded VirutalBox to the last version and downloaded a trial version of VMWare and they works good.

I have to buy a new license to use Paralles with Maveriks

    Thanks for your answers :)
