Everyone brings this up but there is a big difference between a product with just bumped specs and another one with essentially completely different guts.

Sorry, but there's no good reason to think that Apple wouldn't have 2 iPhone models. There's no proof anywhere. Every other manufacturer does it. It's commonplace. Simple as that.

If Verizon launches a global iPhone, they will block access to AT&T just like they have their other global phones.

Edit: What kills me is how many people on this forum assume they can speak for Apple and Steve Jobs. "Apple likes to keep it simple" or "Apple would never design an iPhone like that". LOL

I didn't say I had a good reason to think they wouldn't have 2 models. I just believe they won't. They very well may.

I guess my reasoning is that it would be an elegant solution.

I agree that it would be, I just don't see it happening until there is a single LTE model.

Just like many people said Apple would never launch on Verizon until LTE was ready.

World phones have been available on Verizon for a long time now. Then again, knowing Verizon, I also won't be surprised to learn that the SIM slot is totally locked down so its only usable outside the USofA as well. This is what they do today.

Ironically, Verizon will unlock the GSM side so you can use cheaper local SIMs overseas... something AT&T refuses to do with the iPhone.

So a person is actually better off traveling around the world with a Verizon world phone, than with an AT&T iPhone... plus they get Verizon coverage in the USA.

There are even people on HoFo who say they've used an unlocked Verizon worldphone for voice on AT&T in the USA. Instructions are online.

Probably bc those photos of the redesigned antenna is of the next iPhone (June). Verizon will have the iPhone 4 that looks just like what we already have.

i dont know if your trying to say that verizon wont release the iphone till june but if you are...

IF (big If) the iphone is announced on the 11th i SERIOUSLY doubt they will wait until june before the release it...it would absolutely KILL sales during that gap in between IMO (i have no factual sources just my opinion)

Wow texan, that's really good to know!!

This is what I was thinking.

To be honest, I won't be surprised by any of the following:

1) LTE/CDMA iPhone
2) CDMA/GSM iPhone
3) CDMA only iPhone

At this point it's anybody's guess.

you won't be surprised by any of those 3? lol well ****, be prepared to be "not surprised" those are the ONLY 3 options it could be.

Not what I was saying at all.
