So I had this Wacom tablet laying around and thought why not start to use it with the G5.

I found the drivers here https://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/bamboo-support

and installed these

http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/mac/consumer/520/PenTablet_520-6.dmg

The software installation tool isn't a Universal binary so I only could download the driver.

I now have a Prefpane "Pen Tablet" which doesn't find a tablet ?
Also got an "Ink" entry now for Handwriting recognition but that's not my goal.

I wanted to use the pen in OmniGraffle but the tablet is recognized but not the pen.
Tried it in Paintbrush ( the Mac soft ) but no luck neither.

What am I missing ? Is it simply not supported by the software , any suggestions what program should
work out of the box just to know the pen is working ?

Do you know specifically which Bamboo tablet you have? I posted this a few years ago https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/wacom-bamboo-splash-on-leopard-ppc.1597542/

I was able to get it to work by extracting the driver out of the app installer. I'm pretty sure the Bamboo line should all work on leopard. I don't think the intuos line is working though.

It's a Bamboo Pen & Touch, i was able to install the driver it recognises the tablet as a trackpad , I have Handwriting settings and Ink in my System Preferences but when using the pen on the tablet , it does nothing.

It might be that I'm using an unsupported application , which one were you able to work with ?

I was able to use pretty much anything. When it's working correctly, it functions essentially as a mouse where the four marked corners on the pad are the four corners of the screen. You can float over the pad or immediately touch an individual spot. Are you sure you are using the correct driver from the site for your tablet? I had to unpack the driver from a .app installer inside the DMG. Yours seems to have had that done already.

I found a partial answer to my issue, I installed the driver only on my OS X 10.10 rMBP and there I also have
under System Preferences , "Handwriting" , "Ink" but also a PrefPane Wacom where I can tweak the pen settings.

Under OS X 10.5 I also have a PrefPane "PenTablet" but it only shows " No supported pentablet found on this system"

I have this tablet, and this seems to be the only place i can still find old PPC drivers. cruise around, you might find what you are looking for

did you try this driver? https://tablet4u.co.uk/file.html?Code=MTU2MzF4a0RNNDE1MDY

i think that is for ppc. when i have mine installed, i have the option for setting my pen.

Merry Christmas.

I tried that one but it's not a Universal installer so I can't run it on PPC or should I go into the package contents and install something from there ?
