I'm reasonably certain the official pronunciation is of the "whack-um" variety, even though that sounds kinda dumb the first 100 times you say it that way.

from wikipedia:

Wacom Co., Ltd. (株式会社ワコム, Kabushiki-gaisha Wakomu?) (pronounced in English as /'wɑːkɒm/ or /'wækɒm/)

wɑːkɒm/ or /'wækɒm
ok... and how the hell do they expect us to pronounce that? "ɒ" and "æ" sure arent in any pronunciation keys that Ive seen.

The official pronunciation is wa-com (you can pronounce the com as com, kem, kum, just blame it on your accent), but way-com is so frequently used that Im sure it has become just as "official" as the real way to say it.

I've heard that same pronunciation from Burt Monroy and a few others so I say it the same way only louder 😉

I say Way-Com just because that's how it was introduced to me. I've never heard anyone pronounce it any other way. Everyone says things differently though.

I used to say "way-com" but I was corrected on that pronunciation at a PhotoshopWorld convention once.

It sounds more like "wok-um" in reality.

I didnt read the other responses but its pronounced:

Wah - come. The guy on their website (if the videos are still there) pronounces it this way and hes wearing a Wacom shirt so I'm pretty sure he is right.

I like Way-com better though 😛
