Anyone know of a program that works under Lion that reads .WAFF files. It was the Internet Explorer archive format.

No, you can't open them in Lion. They require Internet Explorer, which requires Rosetta, which is not supported in Lion. Surely you know someone with a Windows PC you can use to open them.

You can try the Web Archive Converter under Mac OS 8.x.x or Mac OS 9.x.x (within SheepShaver).

I forgot to mention, that the Web Archive Converter creates standard ZIP files, which you can decompress in the Finder of Mac OS X 10.3 or newer.
