There are a number of credible rumors that Apple will introduce a 27" Studio Display PRO in June, with mini-LED and ProMotion. I'd consider waiting but I don't *really* need HDR (only watch movies on my TV) and ProMotion is nice but not crucial. I'd be willing to spend $2000 or maybe up to $2500 for the PRO but I sense it's going to be a lot more than that given the XDR is $5000 for a mini-LED-like screen, another 5" of screen but no ProMotion. You can maybe knock off $1500 for the 5" but you're still down to $3500, which is way too pricey. Still, a $2000 premium for ProMotion and mini-LED seems high. Also, I hate waiting! I'm still using a 2015 iMac 27" and have been eager to upgrade to Apple silicon. Thoughts?

$2500 with the base stand sound reasonable (for Apple) to me for this and we had rumors of a $2500 display before the Apple Studio Display released.

I still think Apple is nuts to release it so soon after releasing the ASD, but I guess Apple considers the ASD a "consumer/prosumer" display and the ASDP as the "professional" model and therefore WWDC makes sense to launch it (maybe with the rumored 36" 7K replacement for the Pro Display XDR).

I suggest you wait until WWDC for sure. It's not that far away honestly. Then you will know for sure what it entails.

I love my ASD. If it had mini-LED I'd be happier. However I already paid $2,000 for this display because I went nano. If the Studio Display Pro has mini-LED and nano by default and costs $2,500, I'll sell this thing and get that instead. Anything more than that I'll pass and have peace of mind with this display.

A ~29" ~5.5k mini-LED display for less than $3000 would be an immediate buy for me.

Not interested in the 8-year-old panel tech in the 27" studio display and nowadays it's too small

I would definitely wait and see at this point. The ASD has a real issue with its webcam that should be able to be fixed with software, but has no timeline for that fix. Also, users and reviewers are reporting that the panel performance is nearly identical to the LG 5k. There is a good chance you can snag a 27" LG 5k for half the price of the ASD in the very near future (either used or if LG drops the price, which they may). I just cannot fathom paying double for the ASD over the LG.

The ASD has not proven itself to be a must have purchase, so waiting and seeing is a good way to go. Having said that, I also kind of doubt the rumors of another Apple display. That would be 3 displays all $1600+. I just cannot figure out who would be buying all of these different models.

I was hoping the ASD would have been in a 32" size. The Pro Display XDR is too expensive and it doesn't even come with a stand.

I haven't been impressed with any of the new apple displays. They all have this "lipstick on a pig" quality that I can't get over when reviewing their specs. I doubt I'll want to pay the price Apple charges for a higher refresh based off the pricing of the current displays.
