I never use my Plus phone in landscape mode so 2:25 doesn't affect me. I also don't expect a mind-blowing video experience on a 5" display so watching video on my iPhone is more like killing time or to get information so I'd usually disregard minor distraction like the notch. I'd always use my Macbook Pro or TV for when I want to pay attention to, like say, a movie.

Same as the non plus models. And this is news how? Also, who browses in landscape in safari? Its like the viewport you used to see on windows XP when a user installed every tool bar.

We already knew this. If you love using your phone in landscape mode, wait for the X Plus. No one needed video proof for something that is incredibly well documented in photos that have been everywhere since September.
IPhone X Plus will come out next year in October 2018 or March 2018?

Not a deal breaker. Just means an upgrade from the iPhone X to iPhone Xs or whatever the new name will be is in order.

Look, I get that landscape looks messy, but I don't personally know anyone who actually browses safari etc in landscape mode. The exception is video content and gaming.

And why would you browse in landscape with safari? You'll hardly get any useful content doing so vs the portrait orientation. Just look at the 2:25 mark ... they complain about it but they aren't actually getting any additional content on the screen vs the 8 Plus.

Can't stand the verge, plus it's only to be the verge that seems to be having the most issues with face id

Even their S3 watch review was utter crap.

Sometimes there has to be a cynic and the Verge is it. They do point out things that aren't necessarily invalid, it's just the negatives that nobody wants to hear about. Reading the reviews on Apple products from
Different tech reviews, gives you at least two sides of the spectrum and not everything has to be positive about the iPhone.

I never use my iPhone in landscape at all. I wish there was an option to turn it off in my Plus, but still allow videos and such.

My thoughts exactly here.

I don’t have a problem with that at all, pretty much the only time I go into landscape is to play a game or watch a video.

And no, the notch won’t bother me with videos. It’s rather handily positioned right where my thumb rests when I’m holding my phone in landscape anyway.

Bit like the top and bottom bezels on my 8 Plus 😉

New technology is not for everyone. 🙂
"a non-rectangular screen with a piece missing is new technology"

"you're holding it wrong" makes a comeback. nice

Exactly, but without the taller screen and other goodies. There’s always compromise with these things on both devices, hell all devices. It’s how they get you to keep buying new ones.

Show me the absolutely perfect smartphone, with no compromise whatsoever, that everyone can afford and I’ll show you a dead market that’s going to be replaced with completely new technology so they can keep getting your hard earned cash.
