Waiting 2+ hours for 9am still necessary?

Looking to possibly going to my local Apple Store which would be at Bridgewater, NJ mall tomorrow. Question is, is it still necessary to get there 2+ hours early or would it be sufficent to get there an hour or even 1/2 hr early and still hopefully secure one? I guess it depends on the area etc but looking to see how I can gauge this. I'm really interested in getting one soon while I have the $$.
