iPod touch Waiting Application Problem

I am having a problem I tried to download a Hotmail app and while it was installing it also said it was waiting it as been like that for a while, I am unable to delete it because it is waiting,I just wondered if I should reset home screen layout.

Ive had the same issue, try tapping on it and it may start downloading.
