I'm waiting to see pricing on the new Intel G3 SSDs.

same. i got a new 120 when they came out intending to move it to the mbp from the desktop when g3 hit, it's such a great drive, can't imagine what the g3 would be like. i'd guess the 120 would be about $210 when it hits probably not a huge drop but it will force g2 prices down a bit

Performance wise SF-2000 sounds a lot more interesting but you definitely need SATA 6Gb/s. I can't really say much without knowing the prices though. If Intel is noticeably cheaper per GB, then it would be more attractive to me at least (fast enough for SATA 3Gb/s, no firmware issues).

If you don't need it right now, wait. Mainly because you will get bigger capacities for less $ and current SandForce based drives are experiencing some unpleasant issues with Macs and OS X (e.g. the hibernation issue). When new ones come, you may be able to grab an old one with a decent discount too.

thanks :)

ill keep waiting then.

IMO i think i'll buy intel G3 or a discounted vertex 2.

you are deeply mistaken about G3...not everything is becoming G3
they are only updating a few drives
namely:
160gb
300gb
and 600 gb SSD drives to G3 during the postville refresh

the other ones are anyone's guess
100, 200, and 400 are changed during the lydonville refresh
and it looks like the 40 and 80 will change later
