Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

FedEx is playing with my iMac...

My i5 is ahead of the scheduled 13th delivery. It now sits scared and alone in the vastness of my local FedEx facility. Attempts to rescue it from its current predicament (arrange a pre-delivery date pickup) have been rebuffed with extreme prejudice by the powers that be. :mad:

Alas, my fate is to wait till Friday while FedEx plays with it for the next 2 days.

** Update ** FedEx did an about face and actually delivered the i5 today!! Yippee....

theres someone on here yesterday who claimed he's ordered the day before and it shipped the following (he had an image to prove it).

im in the same boat, placed my order this morning (11am GMT UK). No payment has been taken yet - fingers crossed they'll take it tomorrow.

Apple will quote you end of this month as thats the info they've been provided with from the top dogs.

Maybe, maybe not. I have a reason to believe this, however we won't know until someone does a tear down for the quad core's. What the C2D's have does not correlate over to what build the quad core's have. Just need to be patient. :cool:

I called Apple and they said they are shipping this order anytime between today and Friday. If it's Friday, it'll come next business day (I chose overnight shipping). I should call Apple again and find out if there are anomalies.

So if I understand well, you have canceled your first order, then placed a new one today, and you are saying that you are already having a ready to ship status ??

i ordered i7 just with the wired keyboard within 1hr after store went live on oct 20th BUT no change until now....

GRRRRRRR - maybe european irders starting with W9131... are delayed ?

anybody else starting with that digits ?

maybe I am the only one in Austria and they wait to fill 1 airplane ????

This isn't true. My order number was W657 and I ordered mine the 9th; shipped the 10th.

Yep, that was me. Ordered the 9th and it shipped early the 10th. It'll be here Monday; hopefully sooner.

Did you order an i5 or an i7. That might make the difference.

Posters don't realize that there is no pattern to order numbers. These order numbers are just randomly assigned, regardless of location or what was purchased. The orders are shipped out as Apple sees fit basically.

For what it's worth, the Apple Rep told me they're being shipped in the order they were received.
 
Maybe a bit melodramatic but right now, "Not Yet Shipped" are nearly the most dreaded words in the English language.

You are not alone, sitting in Sweden, ordered i5 about 1.5 hours after store went up on the 20:th, my order also starts with 9131*. My order status says, and have been saying the last week; Ships: 18 Nov, 2009
Delivers: 23 Nov, 2009. Hope it can be earlier......
 
Ordered i7 on the 20th (Australia) Just got the tracking email:

Shipment Date:
11/11/2009

Delivers by:
17/11/2009

Hate to be cynical but apparently the Apple reps seem absolutely clueless and know less than most people reading this forum.

:confused:I've been told by their worker bees that they receive shipments all throughout the day. As for when they're getting them in, I'm crossing my fingers for Tomorrow-thru-Saturday.

However, that being said, the sheer idiocy of my local Apple retail stores has had me going from amused to bemused to concerned and now to depressed. I called a few moments ago and the guy had never heard of the quad-cores / i5's--couldn't even pronounce it--and then yelled and asked someone else, she told him she didn't know if they were getting any!!! I would be concerned, but for why I'm not please refer to the first line of the paragraph. idiots.:confused:

I order imac i7 on the 24 oct.

I live in glasgow UK
My order just been shipped ....but the imac doesnt have a tracking number yet :D

hopefully ill get it by Tuesday

Same here, my i7 iMac ordered october 21st. has also just been shipped, order number W91...
It should arrive here in Denmark on or before the 23rd, neither have I received a tracking number.

Funny you should say that. The rep I was talking to yesterday to get free expedited shipping from said most of the time posters here know more than they do. Even mentioned MacRumors Forums by name!
