Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

So far, I'm showing the following on the same plane to AK (FedEx tracking 8:44 start, end at 4:49p). Correct if I'm wrong.

Gasport, NevadaJack, jmuchrisf, nikonglass, Zedsdead, PieMac, Indyrs, Joelhansenlol, wfj5444, I think Filmgirl

There are 255 iMacs on the plane!

I am also on this plane! The flight tracker and possibility of Friday delivery have me so excited - I couldn't resist making my first post :D

Mine should be on that plane, but I'm not getting my hopes up for an early delivery (Scheduled Monday).
I don't want to be disappointed come Friday evening :(

I'm with you on that. While an early delivery would be amazing... what's an extra 3 days in the grand scheme of things.
 
This really sucks

I am seeing that Apple is still filling orders from October 20. There is no way they can catch everyone up by the end of the month.

So ships November is only for some. Most will get ships December.

There are less than 10 business days left in the month.

my Oct 27th order is delivered and tracking..... my guess is that it's certain configurations that are delayed if at all.

I called UPS and spoke with a woman who sounded pretty certain we wouldn't get the iMacs till Monday. When I asked her what route the iMac has to take, she said it has to go through Kentucky first! I was under the impression it goes through Anchorage, Alaska and then Mississauga. She freaked me out as well by telling me my name is not on the order at all, only my address, and that I have to call in Monday morning to add my name onto it - which makes no sense cause I got a printer included in my Apple order which came yesterday and DID have my name on it. So if my name isn't on the iMac, it's clearly UPS screwing things up...She also made it clear that we are NOT eligible for a Saturday delivery date. I don't know how much of the information to trust from this woman - it makes no sense to me that my name would not be on my order and I don't know if this Kentucky information is true...

In any case, I may call again later tonight to try and get a second opinion from another person at UPS.

Does anyone know the time it takes for a flight from Shanghai to Anchorage and Anchorage to Toronto area? Or if it is possible to pick up from the UPS facility directly on Saturday?

His routing shows via FedEx... why did you call UPS?

Yeah I paid for 2-3 day shipping as well (did an unsuccessful try to get the fee removed).

You can figure out exactly when the flight is arriving by going to www.flightaware.com, and under airport activity, enter in the ICAO code for Toronto. Its CYYZ I believe. Add 6 hours to the arrival time to give you a rough estimate for when it should be available at your local Fedex facility.

Thanks, I assume that does UPS as well? Will definitely check out that site later, at my internship right now so can't check till tonight.

It does have to go through KY, they don't do a AK to TO flight.....

It's highly likely my suffering friends that we don't get it until Monday.....but the 'Express' delivery from UPS is supposed to include Saturday delivery.....check your 'Service' line in the UPS rack window...Express is the faster 2-3 day delivery...which includes Sat....Expedited is normal nobody version.

Thanks for the info. That makes me even more worried about whether my name is on the shipment or not (as the lady on the phone claimed there is no name on my iMac, just the address). And I have EXPRESS on my delivery service line which would contradict what the woman said to me on the phone (that I do not have Saturday delivery service) but she was right about Kentucky then...

Where does it show FedEx? The layout of squall's info tracking appears to be UPS to me. And he's hitting the same times/dates as I am (and mine is definitely UPS).

so exciting and so dorky to track the plane. From AK, I hope that mine comes straight down to Seattle. I seriously might have mine tomorrow, because Fed Ex usually delivers before 10:30am.

Same here - ordered BTO the 27th and in the same shipment (apparently sitting on the tarmac in Shanghai for 36 hours now, or in Korea if some are to be believed) as the folks who ordered a week earlier.

i have the exact same thing , two departures at same time! Must be same flight... Do you know the flight number id like to track this plane!!!

Wow 255 Imacs a day. WTF?

There is no way Apple is going to deliver everyones by November.

This really suck balls.

He may but knowing FedEx, they ship almost everything to Memphis and then ship from there. I have never had anything ship directly from Alaska to anywhere but Memphis. If they do break out the units for different hubs that would be nice and mine would end up in LA later tonight...

Remember when you would order something and look for the truck or find a note on your door that you missed delivery. Now we are not just tracking shipments, we are tracking the airplanes they are on. Next is the assembly line tracking.... :D

Lol. We have the same tracking time and results. I'm in New Jersey just outside Philly. Expected to be delivered by Monday. Ordered mine on the 20th. Can't wait. :):):):):):)
 
Okay, what did I miss? How are you all finding out what plane your package is on? All I can see from my tracking number is that mine shows "In Transit" as of 1:06 AM Shanghai time on the 11th.

This tracking of planes and all is crazy! Makes me want to tell someone here at work, but then I think of the weird looks I'd get, lol.
